Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket on 24th August 2024.

Shikhar Dhawan (born 5 December 1985) is an Indian former international cricketer.

A left-handed opening batter, he was a integral player for Indian cricket team for a decade.

His consistent performance in limited overs cricket helped the team to do so well in major tournaments.

He was awarded the 'Player of the Tournament' for his exploits in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, helped India to win that tournament.

In the same year, on his test debut, he scored record 187 against Australia, which is highest score by an Indian on test debut to date.

He was the leading run scorer for India at the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

Dhawan made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Australia at the Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, in October 2010.

Dhawan made his Test debut against Australia at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Chandigarh, in March 2013.

Dhawan made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against the West Indies in June 2011 at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain.

In 2008, Dhawan became engaged to Melbourne-based Aesha Mukerji, an experienced kickboxer, who later married in 2012.
